OKLAHOMA CITY – Thirty-seven teams started the day in the hunt for the 2020 USA Softball Men’s Class C Slow Pitch National Championship, but by the end of the day only 23 teams remained.
With 14 of the teams dropping two contests today, 16 of the teams went undefeated to stay in the winner’s bracket: 605, A&B/Exit Realty/GraifCloth, Aftermath, Anarchy, Beloli/OSS Apparel, CIDW/Got 1S 6, D&R Miller Concrete, EKH/Eagles/DMS, Knee Deep Brewing/LS, Legion of Boom/DFW Sports, MAT/Wahl/NZone, Reno Cycles & Gear, Russells Paint & Body, Square One/Spiderz, Stagecoach/AEI and Synergy/Bash.
The offense was booming today, with 20 contests today decided via a run-rule. EKH/Eagles/DMS pulled off the biggest win of the day, shutting out Blessings by Design 26-0 (four innings). Jeremy Jirele put up big numbers for EKH, driving in five runs off a pair of singles while AJ Coleman hit a solo home run.
Reno Cycles & Gear also picked up a big win today, besting Silverbacks 29-6 (four innings). Rusty Kawashi, Larry Lopez and Mark Thompson each hit a home run in the win, with Thompson collecting five RBI and Kawashi driving in four runs.
The action continues tomorrow morning starting at 8:30 a.m. CT with the winner’s brackets kicking off the first two round of games. Double elimination will continue through the remainder of the day, with the final four squads making it to Championship Sunday.
