March Blues Across America

  Region 1 I Roger Chretien is a member of USA Softball of Massachusetts, began his umpiring career in 1963 and has worked many years with Little League Baseball. Roger began with USA Softball of Massachusetts in 2005 and is currently a member of the USA Softball medals program. Roger is a board member of his umpire association and he served in the U.S. Military. As Roger moves to a new phase of his life and career, he is looking to retire and spend more time with his wife Helen.
Region 5 I Ralph Hall, USA Softball of Houston, has been a USA Softball umpire for more than 40 years. Dedication, guidance and leadership are only a few of the words that can describe Ralph and what he has done for USA Softball. He has umpired over 1600 USA Softball games in leagues, weekend tournaments and Championships. He is in his 36thyear of leading the USA Softball of Houston Slow Pitch Umpires on the field.

Region 7 I  Chuck French, Northern Area UIC Deputy for USA Softball of Colorado, pictured here showing the proper removal of the mask.  Chuck is also the new CHSSA (Colorado High School Sports Association) President.
Region 7 I John Pohl, nephew to Greg Pohl, and his sister Melissa, are beginning their journey with USA Softball.  John is a newbie and was getting a few pointers from Region 7 UIC John Orlowski on “the slot”.

  Region 9 I USA Softball of Oregon's Dave Pinsky is one of the Rogue Valley Umpires in Southern Oregon. Off the fields, he plays in a blues band in Ashland, Oregon, and chairs a non-profit organization for drug overdose prevention and funding for providing Narcan to local police and first responders.
Region 9 I Representing Region 9, the Women’s Open Slow Pitch Championship Crew: Dave Vazquez USA Softball of Oregon, Bridget Lamb, USA Softball of Portland and Vince Robinson from USA Softball of Washington. They are leaders on and off the field.
