All-American Games Day One Recap

Day One of the third annual USA Softball All-American Games featured 18 of the 24 teams kicking off the tournament with dominant offenses and competitive pitching. The powerful bats of the 12-Under All-American athletes started with no hesitation as Region 10 White, Region 5 Silver and Region 1 Blue scored a combined 30 runs in the first three pool play games of the tournament. In the remaining six pool play games of Day One, an additional 35 runs crossed home-plate, resulting in a stunning total of 73 runs scored after nine completed games.


Although the offenses were supreme, the pitching in the circle maintained a competitive balance, totaling 78 strikeouts at the end of Day One. Region 9 Red compiled nine total strikeouts in their pool play debut, with Region 2 Red and Region 1 White following closely behind with eight.


Earning wins today were Region 10 White, Region 1 Blue, Region 5 Silver, Region 3 Blue, Region 5 White, Region 2 Red, Region 7 Blue, Region 1 White and Region 5 Red. Day Two of pool play games will continue tomorrow starting at 8am.
