As we near the start of the 2019 USA Softball Junior Olympic (JO) Cup, we're highlighting some of the teams who will take to the fields in Spartanburg, S.C. to compete.

Meet the GA Power Demarini Gold, a team competing in the 18-Under division. Based out of Georgia, Head Coach Jose Tunon breaks down what you can expect to see from his 2019 roster in Spartanburg.

Noteworthy events and finishes in recent tournaments: 2017-2018: 18U NPS US Club Rankings - 19th; 18U Super 64 bracket at Colorado Fireworks - 9th; Triple Crown US Nationals - 9th; USA Softball JO Cup - 7th. 2016-2017: US Club Rankings - 100th; PGF Nationals Premiere 16U - 33rd; Triple Crown Nationals - 17th; Triple Crown Southeast Nationals - 1st. 2015-2016: ASA Nationals - 13th; Triple Crown Southeast Nationals - 2nd. 2014-2015: ASA Nationals - 17th; USSSA Georgia 16U State Champion.

What are some of the strengths your team will bring this season: Our team has a tremendous bond that has developed over a short period of time and is fueled by the love of the game!

What is a primary focus your team has as you prepare for the 2019 JO Cup: Our primary focus is to play the best competition in the state of Georgia to prepare to compete at the 2019 Jr. Olympic Cup.

What they look forward to seeing at the 2019 JO Cup: Being able to play in the elite tournament sponsored by USA Softball is both a treat and a pleasure as we see the beautiful game of fastpitch softball grow and blossom in our country. Last year's tournament was well ran and provided the ability to meet some of the top coaches in the nation which was one of the reasons we returned in 2019. Thanks to USA Softball for the opportunity, Play Ball!!
