USA Softball is no stranger to Spartanburg and Tyger River Park. Spartanburg County’s premier park was built to attract youth sports and has fulfilled that role well, most recently hosting the 2018 USA Softball Girls’ Class A 12-Under National Championship while also being named the 2015 USA Softball Complex of the Year. Tyger River Park is home to 13 youth baseball/softball fields, a clubhouse and a large playground. In 2014 the park added a perimeter exercise trail, picnic shelters, new restrooms, a splash pad, disc golf and other amenities to take it to the next level.

Since the inaugural year in 2015, the JO Cup has grown to include three age groups and has crowned eight champions in its four years. This tournament is team-based and is led by a travel ball coaches committee whose main focus is to give teams the opportunity to play in an elite tournament and rely on their feedback to produce a competitive atmosphere for all those involved.
