  Region 3 I Dave Swanson of Crossville, Tennessee has been a USA Softball registered umpire for 37 years. He is an Elite umpire, a member of the National Indicator Fraternity (NIF) and is also World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) certified in the game of Slow Pitch. Swanson is Deputy State UIC for USA Softball of Tennessee and is involved in training umpire and helping them to improve their skills and advance their careers.
Region 7 I Roy Shoffner is from USA Softball of St. Louis and is a Marine veteran who served in Vietnam. Shoffner started playing Fast Pitch 47 years ago and played at the highest level, winning National Championships and earning several All-American awards. He began umpiring the game in 2009 and has umpired several championships. He enjoys giving back to the game he loves so much.

Region 7 I  Dustin Rice and Bob Goble of USA Softball of Colorado are working the Scott Wagner Police Department Benefit Scholarship Game n 2017. Dustin serves in the military and Bob is a 911 engineer, and both are UIC's and active umpires in Colorado.
Region 7 I Chad Gefroh, an instructor for USA Softball of Colorado is showing the class a few pointers on how to administer the DP/FLEX rule. Gefroh has umpired numerous Nationals, including a 14B in Prescott, Ariz. He is a Division II umpire in the RMAC.

Region 7 I Reese Robinson and her daughter, Ariel, are pictured here at a past USA National Championship. Reese umpires for USA Softball of Colorado, and Ariel has also umpired in past years. Reese is the heart and soul of USA Softball of Colorado umpiring, as she has mentored young umpires for over 35 years.
Region 7 I Chuck French, shown here hard at work at the USA Softball Master's Clinic in 2018. French has umpired for 20 years or more with USA Softball of Colorado. He umpires in the RMAC and is one of the UICs for USA Softball of Colorado. He helps develop and train umpires for his Local Association.


Region 9 I Dean Anderson from Snohomish, Wash. umpires for USA Softball of Washington (Region 9) and is seen here hustling as always. Dean has been a USA Softball umpire for 19 years, a NIF member and travels around the state helping out wherever he can.
  Region 9 I Kerry Steichen from USA Softball of Seattle (Region 9) is ready to move any way necessary as he keeps his eye on the ball. Steichen has umpired for 9 years, and has been successful at four Slow Pitch National Championships while also earning his NIF.
