USA Softball International Cup game schedule announced

OKLAHOMA CITY –  Almost 50 games will be played July 9-15 in Irvine, Calif. at the inaugural USA Softball International Cup, USA Softball announced today.  The USA Softball International Cup, a World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) sanctioned event, will be highlighted by some of the top teams in the world.

USA Softball is also proud to announce the addition of Scrap Yard Fast Pitch, an independent women’s softball team based out of the Houston, Texas area.

“We are excited to have Scrap Yard Fast Pitch compete at this year’s USA Softball International Cup,” said USA Softball Executive Director, Craig Cress.  “Their talent on the field will not only add to the strength of schedule at this prestigious event but will also provide the international teams the opportunity for additional games against top-notch competition.  We look forward to welcoming Scrap Yard Fast Pitch and showcasing their talents to fans in the United States and abroad.” 

Teams participating at the USA Softball International Cup include: No. 1 USA, No. 2 Japan, No. 3 Canada, No. 5 Chinese Taipei, No. 6 Puerto Rico, No. 7 Mexico, No. 10 Czech Republic, No. 12 China, No. 15 Philippines, No. 17 Venezuela, No. 19 Peru, No. 31 Colombia and Scrap Yard Fast Pitch.  Both USA Softball Women’s National Team rosters, which includes the WBSC World Championship and Japan All-Star Series rosters, are slated to compete in this event.
