Team USA at the NCAA WCWS - Day One

Members of the 2018 USA Softball Women's National Team take the stage at the 2018 NCAA Women's College World Series!  Find out how athletes who will don the Red, White and Blue this summer fared during the opening day of the #WCWS.

Sis Bates - Washington - Sophomore - Infield

Washington's Sis Bates helped the Huskies upset two-time defending National Champion Oklahoma during their opening game at the NCAA WCWS.  Bates, who finished the game 1-for-4 with one RBI, plated the first run of the game for the Huskies with a bunt in the fifth inning.  

Rachel Garcia - UCLA - Sophomore - Pitcher

2018 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Rachel Garcia picked up the win in the circle as the UCLA Bruins came-from-behind to defeat Florida State 7-4 in their opening contest.  Garcia fanned 15 Florida State batters to advance the Bruins through the winner's bracket.

Megan Kleist - Oregon - Junior - Pitcher

Entering the game in the sixth inning, Megan Kleist helped shutdown the Arizona State offense as the Ducks put up an 11-6 win over the Sun Devils.  Kleist, the 2018 Pac-12 Pitcher of the Year, issued two strikeouts and allowed just two hits in her two innings of work in the circle.

Jenna Lilley - Oregon - Senior - Infield

Jenna Lilley had a day at the plate, scoring two runs for the Oregon Ducks offense in their win over Arizona State.  Lilley, who finished the game 2-for-4, helped manufacture runs for the Ducks in the first and fourth innings.

Bubba Nickles - UCLA - Sophomore - Outfield

UCLA centerfielder Bubba Nickles extended her postseason hit-streak to eight games as she went 1-for-3 in the Bruins 7-4 win over Florida State.  The Merced, Calif. native was also walked in the game.
