JO Cup- Day Five in Five Photos

Day Five of the JO Cup showed us the fierce competition to fight for a spot in the championship matchups. Get ready for Championship Saturday by catching up with the best storylines of Friday in the five photos below!

 

Gametime Stars- 18U

The best girls' fastpitch teams in the country brought the heat with their pitching-- more than 1700 strikeouts have been thrown through five days of JO Cup play.

St. Louis Chaos- 14U (shutout Gametime Stars 8-0)

With bids to the championship matchup on the line, the competition was fierce-- only one game in Friday's play ended in a run-rule victory, the fewest of any day of the 2018 JO Cup. 

 

Championship Matchups

14U

Fury Platinum- 14U

With St. Louis Chaos' victory over Gametime Stars (9-4), they are the only 14U team with a secured spot in the JO Cup Championship. With Fury Platinum's win over Ohio Outlaws in the semifinals (7-3), both they and Ohio Outlaws are both still in the running for the final championship spot, which will be decided in an "if" game tomorrow at 10 a.m. CT. 

 

16U

Arizona Thundercats- 16U

Both of the 16U spots in the championship matchup have yet to be decided-- the two undefeated teams, St. Louis Chaos- Slover and Panthers, loss their semifinal games, forcing two "if" games tomorrow. Chaos will play the AZ Thundercats, trying to revenge their 4-3 loss Friday, while the Panthers will matchup with the TX Dirt Divas for the third time this tournament.  

18U

Texas Glory- 18U

The Ohio Hawks secured their spot in the JO Cup championship Friday night with a win over Flordia Impact, 3-0. Fighting for the remaining championship competition spot are Texas Glory and St. Louis Chaos, after Chaos fell to Glory 3-1 in the semifinal matchup.
