Support Child Care Fund
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The Amateur Softball Association, the National Governing Body of Softball in the United States, announced today the kick-off of the ‘USA Softball National Team Child Care Fund.’ An established fund for the reimbursement of Child Care expenses incurred by USA Softball National Team members, the fund was implemented as a support means for individuals with families who participate within the National Team program. An avenue designed to support the growth of the sport, this fund presents the opportunity to balance family and softball to some of the nation’s best softball athlete’s.
“We really appreciate the ASA’s openness to support a cause like this and to support its athletes,” said two-time Olympic gold medalist Leah O’Brien-Amico. “With support of the fans of USA Softball it will now be possible for athletes to have families and represent their country.”
Now accepting tax deductible donations, the ASA will pool the money to be distributed among the athletes who submit applications for reimbursement. Donations cannot be made to specific athletes, but to the overall fund to later be divided accordingly.
