How to Become a Certified Roller Derby Official

  1. You must first become a member with USA Roller Sports.  You may accomplish this by purchasing either a competitive or non-competitive amateur card and pass a background check (no extra charge).
  2. The officials' applications are available on the website under the Resources tab (forms). Submit your completed form to the national office.
  3. Once all requirements have been met, you will receive a shield patch and level bar for your uniform. Additional patches may be purchased.

USA Roller Sports, a non-profit corporation under section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, is the National Governing Body (NGB) for amateur roller skating in the United States under the Amateur Sports Act of 1978.  USA Roller Sports is a member of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), World Skate Organization, and the Pan American Sports Organization (PASO).
