USARS BOARD OF DIRECTORS


The USARS Athlete Nominating Committee has reviewed eligibility of Alison Kiger and found her to be candidate qualified for election to fill the Artistic Athlete Term for a period of three-years, starting at the conclusion of the 2018 Fall Annual Board Meeting.


Alison Kiger of Antelope, California.   Alison has been a member of the Junior World Team in 2015 and 2016 and a member of the Senior USA Team in 2017.  She is also an RSA test judge and gives learn-to-skate lessons to beginners. She is a full-time student at California State University, Sacramento, pursuing a major in biology with an emphasis in biomedical sciences, and minors in chemistry and anthropology.  She wants to give back to skating for all that it has given to her.


ELIGIBLE FIGURE ATHLETESAny person who holds a current USARS member card, has reached 18 years of age or older, who meets the USOC definition of an active athlete (for figure, someone who has competed in figure skating in the Pan American Games, Senior World Championships or other senior international elite level competitions, such as the World Games, within the last ten years) is eligible to run for a seat on the USARS Board of Directors.


Nominees must be able to attend two meetings each year in order to serve as a Director on the USA Roller Sports Board and agree in writing to abide by the USARS Code of Ethics and Conflict of Interests Policy.  


ADDITIONAL NOMINATIONS BY PETITION - June 1, 2018 is the deadline for eligible electors to submit names of additional nominees by petition for election as an athlete representative.  Such petitions must contain the signatures of twenty-five (25) eligible Figure Athlete electors for the figure athlete board vacancy. The petition must include a submitted factual biography which shows his or her qualifications for the board seat and the signature of the nominee consenting to nomination by petition. The USARS Code of Ethics will be forwarded to each candidate for signature. The Athlete Nominating Committees shall review and certify each candidate prior to submission to the membership.


ELIGIBLE ELECTORS - Roller Figure Skating athletes who are eligible to vote by email survey in the 2018 elections, must be current USARS registered Figure Skating members, who are competing or have competed within the preceding ten years in USA Senior Elite National Championships.  For Figure Skating this is defined as only those who have competed in the USARS Senior World Class National Championship events.
