USARS Announces Roller Derby Officials Certification Program

USA Roller Sports is excited to release the structure of their highly anticipated certification program for officials, which includes three levels of certification for both Referees and Non-skating Officials (NSOs).

The certification program will serve as the education and training platform for officials interested in acquiring and maintaining the skills necessary to officiate under the USARS rule set. The objective of the program is to increase the pool of qualified and certified officials available to enhance the success of USARS clubs. The first list of certified officials will be announced in January 2014. The application for certification will be made available in the coming weeks.  Additionally, officials who participated in the 2012 USARS Regionals and/or Nationals will be eligible to apply for temporary certification that will last through the end of 2013.

A detailed description of the program is available here (

Officials who are interested in becoming certified are highly encouraged to apply for the 2013 Regionals before the May 31st deadline:

The USARS Roller Derby Committee is also currently finalizing a new certification program for Roller Derby coaches. An official announcement will be made upon completion of the program.
