FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 20, 2008 Lincoln, NE- On April 25-27, 2008, inline hockey players from across the country will converge at Tour Inline Hockey Arena in Colorado Springs, Colo., to vie for a spot on the 2008 Women's Inline Hockey World Team that will head to Germany this summer to defend the USA's 2007 world title. A championship selection committee has evaluated players and will invite a minimum of 30 women to participate in the final trials. All invited athletes must have been a member of the 2007 world team or have competed in the 2007 Inline Adult Women's Hockey National Championships. Players in the 18U and 14U divisions who participated in the 2007 USARS USA Championships or the AAU Junior Olympics were also eligible. Twelve athletes, including two goalies, will be chosen for the team and compete at the FIRS Women's Inline Hockey World Championships in Dusseldorf, Germany July 5-12, 2008. Jeff Prime will once again serve as head coach alongside team manager Barry Jackson, positions both men held last year when the women were crowned world champions.
