USA Roller Sports

Coronavirus/COVID-19 Update 4-3-2020:
I would like to thank the Board of Directors, Executive Director, office staff, all committees, sport advisors, and anyone else behind the scenes for their dedication and hard work being put forth during these trying times with Covid 19 virus. This is helping to keep USA Roller Sports moving forward.

We want to thank our membership for their patience with us as we deal in unchartered waters with events daily on a case by case basis. The office is working from home, and at the office in shifts. Please be patient if you are trying to reach them.

As most of you probably know by now, the Board of Directors met last Saturday and decided to cancel all Regional and other qualifying events for our Indoor National Championships. Therefore, our Indoor National Championships will be an Open Nationals. We hope that regions may
still be able to hold some pre-National events, even though, they would be non-qualifying. This would bring our people back together and back on their feet, so to speak.

We are still moving forward and planning for our National Championships in Cedar Rapids. As we hope that this pandemic will subside and will not deter our members from coming. We will take it day by day and are planning on the the event being as good or hopefully better Championships than ever.

For Speed ODN, since their ODN was postponed, they are checking to see if there is a possibility of having their World Team Qualifier at Cedar Rapids or later in Colorado Springs. This is only in the investigative stages to date.

USA Roller Sports has also purchased a new floor from Vesmaco in Italy. This type of floor has been used for the last few years for Figure Worlds. This floor should arrive in June and will be utilized for Figure practice, Rink Hockey and Derby at this year’s Indoor National Championships. Speed and Figure will still compete on our own hardwood floor. The new floor is 80’ x 180’ consisting of high-density wood particle board. After testing, the floor seems to be strong and durable.  Obviously,we want to test the floor at Nationals with some speed skaters, to make sure it is conducive to Speed racing too and future championships.

Everyone is working hard to keep on top of every situation, as well as, the everyday operations to keep our business healthy and thriving.  USA Roller Sports will also do it’s best to notify all members of any changes to our events or event sign up deadlines.

To all our families in the skating world, keep your distance, stay healthy, help each other when possible and continue to stay strong.
