LINCOLN, Neb. (June 7, 2019) – USA Roller Sports today announced the athletes selected to represent Team USA at the 2019 Pan American Games from July 26 to August 11 in Lima, Peru.

Five of the country’s best roller sports athletes will compete in figure skating and speedskating disciplines at the Pan American Games later this summer. John Burchfield (Cocoa, Fla.) and Ashley Clifford (Morgan Hill, Calif.) will compete in figure skating events, while Jonathan Blair (Roswell, Ga.), Herbie Harbison (Alpharetta, Ga.) and Kelsey Helmen (Hagerstown, Md.) will compete in speedskating events.

Six USA Roller Sports athletes competed for Team USA at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Ontario, including 2019 team member John Burchfield. Burchfield captured a silver medal in men’s figure at the Toronto 2015 Games, while his teammates Erin Jackson and Darian O’Neill secured silver and bronze medals in women’s 500-meter and men’s 10,000-meter speedskating events, respectively.

“We are really excited about this group of roller sports athletes set to represent Team USA at the 2019 Pan American Games,” said USA Roller Sports executive director Eric Steele. “The Games present our athletes with an incredible chance to showcase their talents at a great international competition, and we hope to build a tradition of Pan American Games success for USA Roller Sports.”

All Pan American Games roster nominations are pending approval of the U.S. Olympic Committee. A preliminary competition schedule will be published as soon as available.
