Sprague High School Wins Overall Team Championship


Sprague High School: 2019 USA Racquetball National High School Overall Team Champions

St. Louis, MO – 420 High School players from around the country descended on St. Louis, Missouri for the 2019 National High School Racquetball Championships presented by Penn which concluded on Sunday.  The event was held at two beautiful facilities, the Vetta Sports Concord Club and Vetta Sports West Club which provided first class hospitality all weekend long for not only the players but the parents as well.

TEAM AWARDS

This unique team event saw 42 schools compete for titles in the Overall, Boys and Girls Team categories.  Sprague High School from Salem, OR claimed the Overall Team Championship followed by runner-up Parkway West High School from St. Louis, MO and third place going to Lindbergh High School from St. Louis, MO.  In the Girl’s Team division, Parkway West High School took the top honors followed by runner-up Lindbergh High School and third place going to Sprague High School.  The Boy’s Team division, St. Louis University High School took the top honors followed by runner-up Sprague High School and third place going to Parkway West High School.

RESULTS
 

In the Girl’s #1 Singles, Annie Roberts from Barlow High School (Oregon) defeated Nikita Chauhan from Dougherty Valley High School (California) 15-6, 15-9.  Both girls played before a packed audience on the glass stadium court at the Vetta Sports Concord Club.  In the Boy’s #1 Singles division, Antonio Rojas from Langston Hughes Academy (California) defeated Vedant Chauhan from Dougherty Valley High School (California) in the final by scores of 15-2, 15-12.
