USA Racquetball Selects Baton Rouge to Host the 2020 National Intercollegiate Championships

Tempe, AZ –In a unanimous decision from the Events Committee, as well as the Collegiate Council, USA Racquetball has selected the city of Baton Rouge to host the 2020 Intercollegiate Championship on the campus of Louisiana State University, March 25th – 28th.

The Capital City nicknamed “The Red Stick,” has over 300 years of history, with a rich culture and southern hospitality. With the tallest capital building in the country, downtown Baton Rouge is just east of the Mississippi River and features some of the best Cajun and Creole cuisine.

Boasting a $150 million renovation, the LSU Student Recreation Center more than doubled their space and features nine glass-back courts. Bringing the Intercollegiate Championship to Baton Rouge, will also help to reestablish the LSU Racquetball Team.

USA Racquetball, founded in 1969, is recognized by the U.S. Olympic Committee as the National Governing Body for the sport. The organization annually conducts six national championships and sanctions hundreds of tournaments for players of all ages and skill levels. The organization also organizes the Adult and Junior National Racquetball Teams, oversees the Official Rules of Racquetball, administers National Player Rankings, manages a college scholarship program, and supports the introduction of new players to the sport.
