Parkway West High School Wins Overall Team Championship


The 2018 USA Racquetball National High School Championships Awards Ceremony.

Portland, OR – 347 High School players from around the country descended on Portland, Oregon for the 2018 National High School Racquetball Championships which concluded on Sunday.  The event was held at the beautiful Multnomah Athletic Club and Sunset Athletic Club which spoiled not only the players but their families and spectators as well.

This unique team event saw 38 schools compete for titles in the Overall, Boys and Girls Team categories.  Parkway West High School from St. Louis, MO claimed the Overall Team Championship followed by Sprague High School from Salem, OR and Lindbergh High School from St. Louis, MO respectively.  In the Girl’s Team division, Parkway West High School claimed the top spot followed by Sprague High School and Beaverton High School (Beaverton, OR) respectively.  The Boy’s Team division, St. Louis University High School took the top honors followed by Sprague High School and Parkway West High School.

In the Girl’s #1 Singles, Annie Roberts from Barlow High School (Oregon) defeated Nikita Chauhan from Dougherty Valley High School (California) 15-7, 15-9.  Both girls played before a packed audience on the glass stadium court at Multnomah Athletic Club.  In the Boy’s #1 Singles division, Sebastian Fernandez of Mader Dei Catholic High School (California) defeated Antonio Rojas from Langston Hughes Academy (California) in the final by scores of 15-7, 15-1.
