Lima, Peru – U.S. Army Specialist Samantha Achterberg, Littleton, CO won the silver medal at the 2019 Lima Pan American Games and in doing so qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. SPC Achterberg, a member of the U.S. Army’s World Class Athlete Program (WCAP) came from eighth place to start the laser run final event to move into the medal spot.

In true Army fashion, Samantha used expert marksmanship and her running background to move through the field. After the third shooting sequence, she moved into third place and later into the silver position.
