Colorado Springs, CO – Amro ElGeziry led from start to finish and won the first Olympic Selection Competition of the 2020 Olympic season. Amro won the opening fencing event with 274 points and never looked back. Myles Matteson was second in fencing with 260 points and Sam Ruddock was third with 227 points.
Celecki Barrett won the swim in a hard fought contest with Amro. Celecki swam the course in 1:58.41 against Amro’s 1:59.52. Celecki gained 314 points with Amro winning 311 points. Sam Ruddock was third with a time of 2:02.99 worth 305 points.
The riding saw all participants complete the course, with the laser run to follow. Tyler Evans completed the course in the fastest time of 11:40 worth 600 points. Brendan Anderson had the second fastest time of 11:55 gaining 585 points with Celicki Barrett running the third fastest time of 12:00 winning 580 points. Amro was fifth in the laser run coasting in a time of 12:15, 565 points.
The over-all standings saw Amro in first with 1,450 points, Celecki in second, 1,414 points and Tyler Evans in third with 1,401 points. To view the complete results, please click here.
