The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has awarded Los Angeles the 2028 Games and Paris, France 2024 during the IOC session ongoing in Lima, Peru.

USA Pentathlon Managing director Rob Stull was a member of Team USA's Modern Pentathlon team in Los Angeles, 1984 which won a silver medal in the team event, and had this to say,

"I am delighted to see the games return to the USA and Los Angeles. LA holds a special place in my heart. It was my first games and it was extraordinary. I have no doubt that the LA organizing committee for 2028 will make those games something really worth waiting for. We have 11 years to build the momentum and interest across all sports.
2028, for me is the right year in the right country and the right city."
