USA Pentathlon Milestone

Nov. 21, 2017, 5:49 a.m. (ET)

Shannon LaBianco, a long-serving member of the USA Pentathlon administrative team, will be leaving her day to day responsibilities with USA Pentathlon following an exceptional career spanning nearly 8 years of dedicated service with the NGB.

Shannon joined USA Pentathlon in 2010 and has been a stalwart supporter of the sport ever since. In addition to her financial management skills, Shannon brought her love of athletics and her exceptional ability to work with parents and young athletes to the job everyday. Shannon had a significant role in staging 7 World Cup events, national championships, countless competitions and preparations for 2 US Olympic campaigns.
Shannon will be assuming a position with Family Adventures North Jersey in New Jersey, her home state and spending more time with her young sons who are already standout athletes in swimming and baseball. And while we certainly will miss Shannon’s cheerful demeanor and no-nonsense professionalism, we are happy for her and wish her well — and as it is said about Modern Pentathlon, once you have the “pentathlon virus” you never really leave. Hopefully we will continue to see Shannon at our major events.
Shannon will pass the baton to Joann Dowd, also an east coast native relocated to Colorado Springs, who will be assuming many of Shannon’s responsibilities.
As USAP welcomes Joann, we will undergo a reorganization of duties.
