Victoria Tereshuk Wins Palm Springs World Cup

Victoria Tereshuk (UKR) with a spectacular come from behind finish on the last lap passed Xiaonan Zhang (CHN) to win the first World Cup of the 2013 season in Palm Springs, California. Zhang was second, followed by Yane Marques (BRA).

Victoria Tereshuk started the combined in seventh place, but used a strong running form to quickly move up to third. Starting the last lap in third, she entered the stadium neck and neck with Zhang. In a final sprint, she took the lead with less than 100 yards to the finish line.

Margaux Isaksen, Fayetteville, Arkansas finished in a tie for sixth place and her sister Isabella Isaksen, Fayetteville, Arkansas in her first senior World Cup finished in twenty ninth. Isabella made the finals in her first senior event.

Margaux was as high as third place, following the second series of shooting. Unfortunately her fourth series was disappointing and she was unable to recover despite a strong 800 meters; she finished in a dead heat for sixth.
