Nathan Schrimsher (Roswell, N.M.) has advanced to the men's final at the UIPM Junior World Championships in Drzonkow, Poland. He finished eighth in Group B in Thursday's qualification round where the top 12 in each of the three groups move on to Saturday's final.
Schrimsher was 11th in the fencing, fourth in the swim and 12th in the combined run/shoot for a total of 4472 points. His brother, Lucas Schrimsher (Roswell, N.M.) placed 16th in the same group with 4356 points.
Other Americans in Group C were Brendan Anderson (Colorado Springs, Colo.) who finished 18th with 4268 points, and Marshall Stymer (Philomath, Ore.) who placed 29th with a total of 3068.

Competition continues on Friday with the women's individual final and a strong American contingent in the field. Two-time Olympian, and fourth-place finisher in London, Margaux Isaksen (Fayetteville, Ark.), 20, is a strong favorite to win her first junior title in her final year of eligibility. She will be joined by younger sister Isabella Isaksen (Fayetteville, Ark.), 18, and Samantha Achterberg (Littleton, Colo.), 20.
