Update from World Cup #1

March 04, 2010, 9:01 p.m. (ET)

The first day of competition at World Cup #1 in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, was suspended due to darkness. Before the sun went down, Dennis Bowsher (Dallas, Texas) was the lone U.S. competitor to qualify for the men's final to be held on Saturday. Eli Bremer (Monument, Colo.) failed to advance to Saturday's final, while Sam Sacksen (Somerset, Pa.) and Will Brady (Howell, Mich.) will complete the combined run/shoot portion of the event on Friday in hopes of placing high enough to reach the final on Saturday.

The women's semifinal competition slated for Friday has been cancelled so the lone U.S. competitor, Margaux Isaksen (Fayetteville, Ark.), automatically advances to Sunday's final.
