LAKE PLACID, N.Y. - In eight months, 10 USA Luge Olympians will go to the start handles in Pyeongchang wearing the All-American Racer helmet.

This was one of two designs by Jon Wooten, of Newport News, Va., that fans voted on over the past few months, and is the fourth Winter Games in which Wooten has created the look of the team’s helmet.

In polling that ended on July 4, the All-American Racer drew 57 percent of the vote, edging out Stars, Stripes and Liberty.

The helmet will be officially unveiled and presented to the 2018 Olympic Luge Team in Lake Placid, N.Y. on December 16. On that occasion, the 10 Olympians will be nominated in an event to take place in the Lake Placid Conference Center. It will air live on USALuge.org.
