My first love is hip hop and 90s R&B, but I'm all over the place when it comes to music.

This is like asking which parent is my favorite.

*
Squirrel Girl
Who is your hero in real life? Why? *
My parents. I know this sounds cliche, but you have to give credit where credit is due. My mother introduced me to the word "no" and she always stuck to her no. She never gave in and that helped me understand discipline. Although, it did make me weird about having nice things. My father taught me leadership and how teaching is not about your ego.
Hobbies
*
Basketball, golf, chasing children with a "shinai"
Favorite Quote *
Nothing is impossible, the word itself says 'I'm possible' - Audrey Hepburn
Biggest Win. Why? *
Every win feels like the biggest one. But winning a silver in Kata in 2012 Pan American Championships was really amazing. Being a finalist along with your teammate is a great feeling. At that point, it's not about you. You do it for your team.
What do you love about competition? *
Competition is great way to experience life lessons.
Favorite way to relax? *
Watching movies
Advice for the youth athletes in karate? *
Perception is everything. Be aware of your words and actions. Chances are that you will look back five years from now and be incredibly embarrassed by your arrogance. Take it from someone who knows.
Where do you get your inspiration from? *
My organization, Japan Karate-Do Ryobu-Kai. The support I receive from my organization is second to none.
