She has been my biggest fan since day one and I have watched her give to no end, many times without being asked through the years. She puts my siblings and I first and foremost, no matter what it takes and I would consider her the best example of the kind of person I hope to be one day.

Favorite Quote
"Champions do not become champions when they win the event, but in the hours, weeks, months and years they spend preparing for it. The victorious performance itself is merely the demonstration of their championship character." T. Alan Armstrong
Biggest Win. Why?
I don't think I have had my biggest win yet. I have had a couple of great moments in my career so far, but I'm hoping to be able to say my biggest win will be in the finals of the world championship one day.
What do you love about competition?
The single thing I love most about competition is the opportunity to participate. Every single match is an opportunity to be better than ever.

Sleeping, watching movies, and spending time with friends and family.
Advice for the youth athletes in karate? *

I would say to remember to enjoy every moment that you are lucky enough to do the sport you love. This is something I wasn't very good about in my younger years, but am working on much more now. Being a part of the US team is one of the best things I have ever had the pleasure of doing, but remember to look up and around from the mats when you finally get your moment on the floor of the world championships, because it will go quicker than you can imagine. Also, surround yourself with the right people, people that believe in you when your up, but also when your down. You have to have people to enjoy the journey with regardless, so make sure they are the right people that make you smile.

Where do you get your inspiration from?
I draw my inspiration from a couple different things... I surround myself with people that believe in me like my family, friends, and coach. I also draw inspiration from my teammates when I feel like I might not be able to dig deep enough on my own. Watching elite level athletes that I am lucky enough to call friends put all of their heart, dedication and effort into each match is one of the most powerful and inspiring things that I have ever had the pleasure and honor of experiencing. Love you guys :)
