Explanatory Guide Of The IJF Judo Refereeing Rules
The International Judo Federation published the detailed explanation of the IJF Judo Refereeing Rules (Version 26 October 2017) effective from January 1, 2018.
 
USA Judo is updating the event selection procedure
USA Judo is updating the event selection procedure from quarterly to twice a year for 2018. Once for the period from January 1 - June 30, 2018 and a second time for the period from July 1 - December 31, 2018.
 
USA Judo Announces 2018 Junior Olympic Championships
Spokane, WA was selected to host the Junior Olympic Championships, which will run June 22-24, 2018 at the Spokane Convention Center.
 
LOCAL EVENT SPOTLIGHT
 
New Jersey vs. New York Team Championship 
 
Judo of New Jersey, Inc. & Hudson Judo Yudanshakai recently held the New Jersey vs. New York Team Championship. Organizers estimate more than $3000 was raised to give away to athletes in the New York/New Jersey area for tournament travel. New Jersey won 15 to 5. 
 
Fuji Sports served as the main sponsor and supplied both teams with embroidered Fuji Red Pants similar to the U.S. Team in the New York Team Championship. 
 
President of Judo of New Jersey, Inc. Anthony Camal served as the emcee and Ramon Hernandez oversaw Tournament Director duties. Also involved were Judo Olympians Celita Shultz and Nick Yonezuka, along with former World Team Member Clyde Worthen.
