SAVE THE DATE: USA Judo Revives Hall of Fame

April 10, 2019, 1:46 p.m. (ET)

USA Judo will be reviving the USA Judo Hall of Fame, beginning with a new induction class in 2019. A new class comprised of Outstanding Athletes and Lifetime of Service will be inducted every two years thereafter.

The USA Judo Hall of Fame, class of 2019, will be inducted into the USA Judo Hall of Fame on June 1, 2019 during an induction ceremony at the Night of Champions Annual Dinner. The USA Judo Night of Champions will be hosted in Las Vegas, NV at the Westgate Resort in the Cabaret Theater.

“We are excited to revive the USA Judo Hall of Fame and recognize some of the pioneers of judo in the United States from the 1950s and 1960s”, said Keith Bryant, CEO of USA Judo.  “Preserving our history is important and I am grateful to Bruce Toups and the other 19 individuals who comprised a USA Judo Hall of Fame Ad Hoc Committee.  These individuals spent a significant amount of time identifying those hall of fame nominees from the 1950s and 1960s and then went through the challenging voting process to narrow it down to the nine inductees to be inducted at the USA Judo Night of Champions event on the evening of June 1st as part of the Sr. Nationals Weekend.”

The nine individuals being inducted into the USA Judo Hall of Fame will be announced soon.

Tickets to attend the 2019 USA Judo Night of Champions and Hall of Fame dinner will be available for purchase on May 1, 2019. Last year’s Night of Champions was a sold-out event!
