COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado and ANCHORAGE, Alaska (September 27, 2018) -- A celebration of sport will descend on the city of Anaheim, California next June as USA Weightlifting, USA Judo and USA Powerlifting hold events concurrently at the Anaheim Convention Center.

USA Weightlifting will hold the 2019 Nike National Youth Championships powered by Rogue Fitness June 27-30, and will crown the strongest youth athletes in the nation. The Anaheim Convention Center played host to the 2017 International Weightlifting Federation World Weightlifting Championships and the 2017 USA Weightlifting American Open Finals.

It was a beautiful setting for our events in 2017 and we can’t wait to get back,” Pedro Meloni, USA Weightlifting Director of Events and Sponsorships said. “We look forward to partnering with our friends at Sports Anaheim and Visit Anaheim again to carry out another great weightlifting competition.”

USA Judo will hold its Junior Olympics National and International Championships on June 28, 29, and 30 at the Anaheim Convention Center.

The Junior Olympic Championships is USA Judo’s largest junior tournament, bringing in around 1,300 athletes.

USA Judo is thrilled to be partnering again with USA Weightlifting in hosting a national event simultaneously,” USA Judo CEO Keith Bryant said.  “We experienced joint success when we did this in 2017 and coming together again in Anaheim is going to be another great experience for both USA Judo and USA Weightlifting Members alike.”

The 2019 USA Powerlifting California State Championship will also be held at the convention center June 29-30.

“We're excited to return to Anaheim in collaboration with USA Weightlifting and USA Judo and can think of no better place for the 2019 USA Powerlifting California State Championship,” Priscilla Ribic, USA Powerlifting Executive Director said. “It's a great opportunity for powerlifters from across our state to compete at a high-caliber meet alongside weightlifting and judo athletes. Lifters will be competing for the title of California State Champion and we're very much looking forward to running a great event that raises the bar yet again.”

The City of Anaheim is located in close proximity to John Wayne Airport in neighboring Santa Ana, California, and the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Anaheim is also home to Disneyland Resort, the Anaheim Ducks and Angels Baseball.

“Anaheim is a great family and international destination that will benefit families from around the continental U.S., Hawaii and international judoka who can participate in the Jr. Olympics International Competition,” Bryant said.  “We thank USA Weightlifting for their partnership and look forward to welcoming judo families from around the world as USA Judo continually strives to host events at family-friendly locations.”
