“My decision to leave USA Judo and return to Texas is bittersweet,” said Shigemoto. “Judo has played a major role in my life for as long as I can remember and I look forward to remaining involved in a volunteer capacity. As I contemplated life entering the new year, I felt the time was right to return to my home state and spend more time with my daughters and the rest of my family and friends. I can leave knowing I always gave my best for the sport and I believe the organization is on a good path for a successful future.”
