USA Judo Members,

As mentioned earlier, the USOC has externalized the SafeSport program with the launch of the U.S. Center for SafeSport-an independent, non-profit organization.  The Center recently opened in Denver and details about the center and its operations will be distributed within the next few weeks.

One of the first mandates of the SafeSport program is that all background screens and the SafeSport course be completed every two years.  This is a universal change for ALL national governing bodies and changes the current 4-year term that has existed within the American judo community.

Because safety of our athletes is a top priority for USA Judo, we have increased the level of security with our vendor so that the background screens will be more detailed and thorough with broader geographic coverage.  As such, the cost of the screens will increase to $18.00 per applicant effective March 1, 2017.
