Oct. 21, 2015, 6:32 p.m. (ET)

Dan Danieluc

Dan Danieluc is the founder and head coach of Judokan Athletic Club, a young judo club in the beautiful Hudson Valley, NY. Sensei Dan is a Certified USA Judo Coach, who holds a third degree black belt and over 25 years of experience on the tatami.

Born in Romania, Sensei Dan moved to the United States in 2002 after he came to participate at New York Open Judo Championship with the Romanian National Team.

All of his life, Dan has had a love for athletics and competitive sports. His pursuit of judo began at the age of ten because of being bullied in school. Through judo, Dan gained confidence to deal with bullies in a non-violent way. The discipline he learned became a way of life for him. Within a few years, Dan became a national as well as an international judo champion.

Sensei Dan is determined to increase awareness in the Hudson Valley community of the physical and character-building benefits of judo. Dan seeks to introduce youngsters aged five and up to the value of judo. He also hopes to convince educators that this non-violent sport should be an important part of physical education and anti-bullying campaigns.
