The documentary, once completed, will be shown on www.JudoArts.com, a Web channel that Film Annex created to broadcast and promote the sport of judo and other martial arts such as sambo and jujitsu. The web channel showcases professional footage from judo tournaments as well as interviews with world famous judokas, coaches and sports administrators.
Francesco Rulli, the president of Film Annex and a judoka himself, is excited to promote and sponsor the event.
“We created www.JudoArts.com to raise awareness for the sport of Judo and sponsor individual athletes. We donate a portion of the online advertising revenues generated on this web channel to organizations like the New York Open Judo. It is our mission that we continue our efforts to provide official sponsorships for national and international sports events like this one,” Rulli said.
The tournament begins at 8 a.m. with finals scheduled to start at approximately 5 p.m.
The event is open to the public, and the tickets can be purchased for $20 at the door.
