DO YOU HAVE A ROUTINE THE DAY OR NIGHT BEFORE COMPETITION?
I don’t typically have a set routine. Carb-loading is a must the dinner before competition and that’s the only definite event that will take place the night prior to fight day. Other than that, I usually watch some judo videos (of myself and of my opponents) and sleep earlier than usual.

BESIDE COMPETING, WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST ABOUT BEING ZAGREB, CROATIA?
One of the roles that Zagreb will play for me, is as a centralized meeting place for the USA team. Being closely acquainted with the rest of the team members, I am beyond excited to see some of my best friends after months without traveling or competing in the same venues as them. Of course, Zagreb is a beautiful city and I’m really looking forward to touring the city.

WHO IS YOUR BIGGEST MENTOR/INSPIRATION IN JUDO?
Being from the Pacific Northwest, I have grown up looking up to Marti Malloy. The fact that she has managed to juggle earning an education in a time-intensive field while maintaining dominance on the mat on an international scale amazes me. She has proved that one can be successful both on and off the tatami without having to jeopardize either.
