2020 USA Judo Jr. Olympics Cancelled/Blended with Youth Nationals

Due to the current state of the pandemic and in monitoring the “stay at home” and “large gathering” guidelines in the State of North Carolina and, in consideration of the safety of its members, USA Judo has decided to CANCEL the 2020 Junior Olympics National & International Championships originally scheduled to take place June 19-21, 2020, in Winston-Salem, NC.

As a result of these unprecedented times, USA Judo will be combining the 2020 Junior Olympics and Youth Nationals to create a combined event called the USA Judo Junior Nationals. Details and logistics of this event are still being determined, but the dates for this event are set for August 29-30, 2020, to be held in Salt Lake City, Utah. More information will be provided within the next 30 days.

Current registration for the Youth Nationals will automatically be applied to the Junior Nationals. If you have already registered for the Youth Nationals, there is nothing further you need to do. For those who have registered for the Junior Olympics, no further action is needed unless you request a refund which may be requested until June 1, 2020. Please contact USA Judo’s Corinne Shigemoto (corinne.shigemoto@usajudo.us / 719-201-6176) for more information.

Athletes' date of birth and U.S. Citizenship must be verified in the database prior to using the online registration system.

Send a copy of the athletes' birth certificate or passport to Austin.Leath@usajudo.us or fax to 719-866-4733.

Verifications will only be processed during normal business hours:
Monday through Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm Mountain Time.

All coaches and approved referees must now register online through our event registration process. There is no cost to register. If all certifications are in place and current through the end of the event, you will be able to register successfully. If there is something missing, the system will not let you register until all issues are remedied. I will be monitoring the registration on a daily basis as well.

Please note: all referees must first commit to work the event using the USA Judo Referee Information System. The individuals rostered will be approved by the USA Judo Referee Commission to work the event. If you do not commit to work using the Referee Information System and then register online, you may not be allowed to participate in the event and USA Judo will not be responsible for any expenses associated with your stay/travel to the event.
