2018 USA JUDO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
ELECTION DATE ANNOUNCEMENT

 

On behalf of the USA Judo Nominating Committee, I am pleased to announce that voting for the Athlete, Group B&C and Referee Directors will begin on Monday, December 10, 2018 and end at midnight, Pacific Standard Time, Friday, December 14, 2018.  Board voting for the At-Large Director will be completed no later than December 14, 2018. Election results will be published on the USA Judo website on December 24, 2018.

In the event of a tie amongst candidates in any single category, a run-off election amongst the tied candidates in those categories will be held beginning Tuesday, December 18, 2018 and ending at midnight, Pacific Standard Time, Friday, December 21, 2018. The same ballot process used in the first round will be followed, limited to those candidates who tied. If a run-off election again results in a tie, the election will be settled by a blind draw from amongst the tied candidate names, conducted by the Independent member of the Nominating Committee.

The election will be by secret, electronic ballot. USA Judo Staff, Nominating Committee members, Board members and candidates will not have access to any individual ballot nor to any report which indicates how any individual voted.

Registered voters will receive a notification e-mail to their USA Judo e-mail address of record no later than Tuesday, December 4, 2018.  If you have submitted a voter registration and you do not receive this notification e-mail, please notify Pete Catlos, Chair, USA Judo Nominating Committee at elections@usajudo.us immediately.

On December 10th, registered voters will receive a notification via email that the voting process has begun. Additionally, that email will include a single submission link allowing a vote in the voter's registered category. Once a vote has been submitted, the link will disable itself and no further access to the ballot is permitted.  The vote, once submitted, is final.

Important Note:

The election is scheduled one week later than originally planned (December 10th v. December 3rd), in order to allow all registrants to review the final Registered Voter Lists posted on the USA Judo 2018 Election webpage. The final amended Registered Voter Lists were posted on the 2018 USA Judo Election webpage on November 29th. The voter registration lists have been corrected to strike a number of category members who were erroneously listed as registered when in fact they had not submitted registrations, and amended to include successful exclusion appellants.

If you registered to vote, please review the Registered Voter List for your category to ensure that your name is listed. If you are not listed you will be unable to vote. If you submitted your voter registration, but are not listed, please submit an email to elections@usajudo.us including a statement outlining your qualifications to vote in your category and evidence that you submitted your registration to USA Judo between October 1, 2018 and midnight, Pacific Standard Time, October 31, 2018.  No registration appeals will be accepted after midnight, Pacific Time, Thursday, December 6, 2018.
