Attention all Cadet Athletes!!

USA Judo is sending a team on the 2019 Cadet European Tour which will consist of the following tournaments and training camps:

  1. 18. to 19. May 2019 - CADET EUROPEAN JUDO CUP – BIELSKO-BIALA, POLAND
  2. 20. to 22. May 2019 - EJU CADET TRAINING CAMP – BIELSKO-BIALA, POLAND
  3. 25. to 26. May 2019 - CADET EUROPEAN JUDO CUP - COIMBRA, PORTUGAL
  4. 27. to 29. May 2019 - EJU CADET TRAINING CAMP - COIMBRA, PORTUGAL

In order to be eligible for the 2019 Cadet Junior European Tour Team, you must be on the USA Judo Cadet national roster, you must have been born 2002 - 2004, you must be a United States citizen, you must be a member of USA Judo and if you’ve recently become a U.S. citizen or hold dual citizenship, you must have secured the necessary approvals to be eligible to represent the United States internationally.

The contested weights for Cadets will be:
Female: 40, 44, 48, 52, 57, 63, 70, +70kg
Male: 50, 55, 60, 66, 73, 81, 90, +90kg.

Funding/costs:

  • This will be a self-funded trip, unless you meet one of the following requirements:
    1. Top 5 on the USA Judo Cadet national ranking roster overall (male and female) as of March 11, 2019 that competed at the 2019 USA Judo Youth National Championships (known as the “Fab Five”) - fully funded.
      *** Only Fab Five athletes who have accepted their Cadet World Team spots will be awarded full funding for this trip.

    2. Win a medal at one of the Cadet European Tour tournaments (must win at least 3 matches, no byes, no walkovers, no round robins) - full reimbursement of airfare and hotel.

    3. Fight for medal at one of the Cadet European Tour tournaments (must win at least 3 matches, no byes, no walkovers, no round robins) - reimbursement of airfare.

  • Costs for each tournament and camp are included in the information packet that Adam and Lauren will share with those who reach out to them via email.
