USA beats Sweden for bronze

The U.S. Men's U20 Hockey Team defeated Sweden, 4-2, claiming the bronze medal in the 2011 IIHF World Junior Championship this afternoon. It was a big victory for Team USA as it marks the seventh time USA has medaled in the tournament as well as a moment of pride for coach Keith Allain and his players. It is also the first medal on home soil.

The team overcame the mental challenges of the 4-1 loss to Canada on Monday evening and showed strong today versus a very good Sweden team.

Goals were scored by Kreider, Faulk, Bjugstad and Palmieri, and Campbell had a stout defensive game between the posts.
