Nashoba Youth Field Hockey (NYFH) is a non-profit development initiative to expose the sport to individuals in the Nashoba Regional School District. NYFH aims to provide a fun, affordable field hockey experience regardless of skill level or club affiliation. NYFH is a skills based program that introduces athletes to the game of field hockey and provides additional skill development and field time for those who already play the game. Our coaches emphasize physical fitness, stick work, offensive and defensive play, team play and sportsmanship. Several scrimmages against local private or public school teams will be scheduled. We value our coaches, parents, teammates, community members, and fellow players. We provide an environment for our members where they can grow and improve as a team.

Needham Youth Field Hockey was founded and is run by Dina Hannigan and Stephanie Magni. Both Hannigan and Magni currently coach field hockey at Needham High School; the Freshman and Varsity teams, respectively. Both coaches share the same goal of making making field hockey more accessible at a younger age, so by the time the player gets to high school, they have more experience and therefore also have more confidence in themselves and their game. Needham Youth Field Hockey aims to teach fundamental field hockey skills and introduce team play, while encouraging good sportsmanship and is offered to 1st through 6th graders. We are strong believers in the ability of our young athletes to succeed by empowering them to believe in themselves and each other. We are passionate about the game of field hockey and we strive to leave positive lasting impressions on our athletes. We hope that the lessons our athletes learn on the field from us; invaluable lessons about preparation, respect, leadership, persistence, teamwork and many others will translate when they are off the field as well. At Needham Youth Field Hockey we are committed to helping young field hockey players realize their full potential, and our hopes are that each player aspires to continuously grow their game.
