When is the open enrollment period?

Open enrollment is August 1 – October 1.

If I have already affiliated with a club, do I need to do this annually?

No, if your affiliation is staying the same, you do not need to do anything.

Are new members to USA Field Hockey allowed to affiliate themselves with a club post October 1?

Yes, new members will be able to affiliate with a club once they purchase a membership.

Which National Events are affected by the Club Affiliation Policy?

National Events affected by the Club Affiliation Policy are the Disney Field Hockey Showcase, Regional Club Championship, National Club Championship and National Hockey Festival.

Which National Events are not affected by the Club Affiliation Policy?

National Events not affected by the Club Affiliation Policy are the National Indoor Tournament Qualifiers, National Indoor Tournament and Summer Bash Series.

Which National Events are clubs allowed five guests per roster?

National Events that are allowed five (5) guest players per roster are the Disney Field Hockey Showcase and National Hockey Festival.

Which National Events are clubs not allowed five guest players per roster?

National Events that clubs are not allowed to have five guest players per roster are the Regional Club Championship and the National Club Championship; all players must be affiliated with the club at these two events.

How do I change my club affiliation during the open enrollment period?

Log into your account, click on “Change My Club Affiliation”, select the state in which you play, find your club and click submit. A confirmation window will appear.

If I have an extenuating circumstance, how do I change my club affiliation outside of the open enrollment period?

How many times can I change my club affiliation?

Players may change their club affiliation once during the open enrollment period. Once the open enrollment period ends, players may petition to change their club affiliation one time outside the open enrollment period. To do this you must request a Club Affiliation Transfer online through your USA Field Hockey Membership Account. Do I have to affiliate with a club for training, practice, local tournaments or insurance purposes?

No, you can train and practice with any club. Affiliation has nothing to do with your Participant Accident Policy with Integro Insurance.

When should the Club Affiliation Transfer process be used?

The transfer process should be used when you have an extenuating circumstance that hindered you from affiliating with the club during the open enrollment period.

Do both clubs have to approve the transfer?

 Yes, both clubs need to approve the transfer online.

What if my club won’t sign off on the transfer?

If your club will not release your affiliation, please reach out to membership@usafieldhockey.com to begin the appeals process. Your appeal will be reviewed and a final decision will be determined by the USA Field Hockey Executive Director.

What constitutes a guest player?

An athlete not affiliated with your club or any club counts as a guest player.

When should I approve a Club Affiliation request?

When there was an extenuating circumstance that hindered the affiliated athlete from affiliating with the club during the open enrollment period.

What if I feel I should not approve the transfer request for one of my affiliated athletes?

You do not have to approve the request if for a valid reason. For example, the athlete has not paid their club dues in full.
