NEWARK, Del. - April 29, 2020 - The top priority of United States Field Hockey League (USFHL) and the University of Delaware is to put the health and safety of the athletes, coaches, spectators, staff and families first. In keeping with the state Governor’s guidance to stay at home through July, and due to the evolving concerns over the coronavirus (COVID-19), the USFHL 2020 Adult National Championship scheduled July 10 to 12 at the University of Delaware has been be canceled.
The USFHL is saddened for the loss of this opportunity for all qualified teams and know that the inability to play field hockey in general is taxing on all. The USFHL leaders are working diligently as a group to turn this setback into an opportunity to hit the ground running when things open to help facilitate and support adult leaders into the next stage of growth for adult field hockey. This includes upgraded tools to engage and support adult field hockey and a play-off structure that partners with more stakeholders in the adult pipeline.
