Who is the best athlete to ever compete along the Jersey Shore? That is the question the Asbury Park Press has asked the community in their March Madness style "Best Jersey Shore Female Athlete Ever" bracket, which features several notable field hockey greats, including current U.S. Women's National Team athlete Madison Maguire and former USWNT athlete Emily Wold. Voting for the first round of the bracket closes this Sunday, April 12, at 5:00 p.m. ET.

(12) Emily Wold (field hockey): A two-time Asbury Park Press Player of the Year in field hockey, she led Freehold to consecutive NJSIAA Group III state titles (2010, 2011) and consecutive appearances in the Shore Conference Tournament Final (2010, 2011). For her career, she held school records for goals in a season (50) and career (115), before playing field hockey at North Carolina.
George Sourlis Region
(15) Madison Maguire (field hockey): Led Rumson-Fair Haven to back-to-back Shore Conference Tournament titles (2014-15) over her final two seasons, while the Bulldogs won three straight NJSIAA sectional titles. She finished with 130 career goals. She went on to score 96 goals at the University of Maryland.
