FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers: Matches, Dates and Venues Confirmed

LAUSANNE, Switzerland - September 9, 2019 The FIH Hockey Olympic qualifiers have been determined by a draw held today at the headquarters of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) in Lausanne, Switzerland as follows:

Men

October 25/26: Spain – France, Valencia
October 25/26: The Netherlands – Pakistan, Amsterdam
October 25/26: Canada – Ireland, West Vancouver
November 1/2: India – Russia, Bhubaneswar
November 2/3: New Zealand – Korea, Stratford
November 2/3: Germany – Austria, Mönchengladbach
November 2/3: Great Britain – Malaysia, London

Women

October 25/26: Australia – Russia, Perth
October 25/26: China – Belgium, Changzhou
October 25/26: Spain – Korea, Valencia
November 1/2: India – USA, Bhubaneswar
November 2/3: Germany – Italy, Mönchengladbach
November 2/3: Great Britain – Chile, London
November 2/3: Ireland – Canada, Dublin

Each qualifier consists of two back-to-back matches which will be played in the same venue. The match times will be confirmed at a later stage and updated on FIH.ch.

The winners of these FIH Hockey Olympic qualifiers will qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games which will be staged in Japan’s capital city from July 25 to August 7next year and involve 12 men’s and 12 women’s teams. The following teams are already qualified:

The final participation in the Olympic Games for any team must be approved and confirmed beforehand by their respective National Olympic Committee.
