USA Field Hockey’s Level 1 Instructional Coaching Clinic is an 8-hour offering and will be held at Long Island Post University in Brookville, N.Y. on Saturday, June 9 from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m ET. This Level 1 is specifically designed for individuals with a basic knowledge and understanding of the game of field hockey. Individuals who are brand new to the sport are welcome to attend, but may find it difficult as the course covers a broad range of topics in a short period of time. This Level 1 clinic is the perfect opportunity for professional development and local networking.

Participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis and space is limited.

Upon completion of the course, all participants will receive their Level 1 Coaching Certification. This certification will remain valid as long as your USA Field Hockey Coach Membership remains current. Certification will lapse without a current membership. Coaches interested in working in USA Field Hockey's Futures Program must have a Level 1 Certification and a current USA Field Hockey Coach Membership to be eligible to apply.

Instructor for this Level 1 Instructional Coaching Clinic:

Allan Law | USA Field Hockey Trained Coach Educator

In February, Law was named the U.S. U-17 Women's National Team Assistant Coach. A native of Scotland, he has spent four seasons with the Syracuse field hockey program, highlighted by helping lead the Orange to a NCAA Championship in 2015. He is responsible for video analysis and technical development of the Syracuse student-athletes, helping develop some of the nation's most talented players and has helped both current student-athletes and alums reach the international level.

Law, Scotland’s Men’s Coach of the Year in 2009, served as the head coach of the Scotland U-16 Boy’s National Team (2011-13) and Head of Hockey for the St. Andrew’s University Hockey Club (2012-13), while performing the role of senior hockey coach and coach education coordinator at Glenalmond College, working with boys and girls from U-14 to U-18 levels.
