Regional Futures Tournaments Kick Off This Weekend Throughout the Country

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - May 3, 2019 - The 2019 Regional Futures Tournaments (RFT), presented by Harrow Sports, encompasses all of USA Field Hockey's nine regions and takes place at the end of seven training sessions. The RFT is a great opportunity for athletes in the Futures Program to be placed on an age-specific team in their region and showcase the skills they learned during the program. Each athlete that decides to be a part of their region’s RFT will have an opportunity to play against other teams in their region in hopes of being selected to move forward in the Olympic Development Pipeline. If an athlete is selected at their RFT, they will have the opportunity to perform at the 2019 National Futures Championship (NFC), presented by Harrow Sports, in late June. The U-16 and U-19 division selected athletes will be placed on a regional team and will participate in a Regional Training Camp weekend before the NFC. The U-14 selected athletes will be selected to move on to the NFC and will play on mixed region teams.

Good luck to all the athletes participating in their region’s RFT over the next three weekends! USA Field Hockey’s Futures Program anticipates that more than 2,700 athletes will participate in these events. All RFT dates can be found by clicking here.

All athletes that are selected to advance to the National Futures Championship will be notified by email within a few days following their RFT. The selected athletes will be posted on to respective region’s informational page.
