Application Open for Volunteer Indoor USMNT Head Coach Position

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - March 12, 2019 -  USA Field Hockey is now accepting applications for the volunteer position of head coach for the U.S Men’s National Indoor Team for the 2019-20 competition year. The ideal candidate will provide coaching instruction and evaluation, will be responsible for overseeing the junior and senior men’s programs, in addition to developing a supporting staff and high performance plans to secure future support for the program.

Duties also include developing and implementing an overall tactical training regime, hockey techniques, competition and additional training needs, which include providing for psychology, nutrition, medicine, science, technology and other performance enhancement tools as available, necessary and appropriate.

This individual should also have firm emphasis on the evaluation, recruitment and selection processes to ensure the best players represent the United States in International Hockey Federation, Pan American Hockey Federation and domestic competition.  

Interested individuals for the coaching position must hold at least a Level 2 Coaching Certification and have experience in planning, organizing and implementing a comprehensive high performance program.

The primary focus of the coming year is to prepare for the 2020 Indoor Pan American Cup, which will be held in March in Pennsylvania. To prepare for competition, the Indoor USMNT will compete in indoor international tournaments in Europe in December 2019 and January 2020.
