USA Field Hockey Seeks Volunteers to Join ‘Hockey Hands’

LANCASTER, Pa. - March 8, 2019 - From March 29 to June 22 the Home of Hockey in the United States, Spooky Nook Sports in Lancaster, Pa., is hosting seven FIH Pro League matches. These international matches will bring some of the world's best women’s teams to Lancaster.

USA Field Hockey is seeking motivated and talented individuals to join the new volunteer group the "Hockey Hands." This group of individuals will help bring this premier event to life. Volunteering at a tournament of this caliber displays a strong sense of leadership and organization, all while getting the chance to assist alongside world-renowned professional athletes and teams. Contributing to FIH Pro League through the array of volunteer opportunities below not only sharpens many desirable skills employers avidly search for, but also is a great way to give back to the local community of Lancaster.

Volunteer Opportunities

Ticketing/Will Call

  • Assist spectators on the day of the match with ticket purchases, scan tickets and distribution of accreditation badges.

Spectator Services

  • Assist spectators and fans to their correct seating sections as well as manage spectators during and after the match.

Sports Presentation

  • Assist with the pre-match television broadcast production to include flag carriers and tunnel assistants, as well as crowd engagement during quarter breaks and halftime spectator games.

Competition Services

  • Ball Patrol individuals that run the sidelines and end lines during the match. Eight ball chasers are needed for each match. Knowledge of field hockey rules is required. Recommended age requirement 15 or older.

Event Security

  • These volunteers will be responsible for managing the various accreditation checkpoints throughout the venue to ensure only the correctly accredited individuals gain entry to their respective zones during the match.
